How to Convert Existing Builds to Re Chiseled Blocks

Planning the Swap

If you already have a build made from vanilla planks or stone, you can upgrade it piece by piece. Walk through the structure and note which surfaces would benefit from a pattern — floors, feature walls, and ceilings usually gain the most.

Step-by-Step Conversion

1. Craft or obtain the chisel tool.

2. Break a section of the existing blocks and collect them.

3. Chisel the collected blocks into your chosen pattern.

4. Replace them in the same positions.

For large areas, chisel a full stack at a time before placing, so you are not switching tools constantly. If you are converting slabs or stairs, remember to chisel the full block first, then craft the slab or stair from the chiseled result.

Avoiding Common Mistakes

  • Do not mix pattern families on the same surface unless you intend the contrast.
  • Check that your replacement pattern has a slab and stair variant before committing to a roof or staircase.
  • Test a small patch first; some patterns look busier in large quantities than they do on a single block.
