Stop leaves from decaying in specific situations

Understand when leaves decay

Rapid Leaf Decay causes leaves to vanish only after all connected logs from a tree are removed. If logs remain attached to leaves, those leaves will not decay, even with the mod active.

Preserve leaves intentionally

To keep leaves from decaying, simply leave at least one log block connected to them. This is useful for:

• Aesthetic builds: Keep foliage around structures
• Partial harvesting: Leave upper branches intact
• Tree farms: Maintain canopy while collecting lower wood

Automated farms and leaves

If you use an automated tree farm that breaks leaves manually (not through log removal), the mod won't affect those leaves—they'll behave as normal. Rapid Leaf Decay only triggers when logs are removed, so automated systems that target logs first won't cause unexpected leaf loss.

Configuration workaround

For more advanced control, edit the config file to increase decay delay, giving you more time to decide which leaves to keep before they vanish.
