How to Farm Specific Wool Colors From Random Sheep

Since sheep now spawn with unpredictable colors, getting a steady supply of one specific wool color takes a little planning. The key fact is that a sheep's spawn color is fixed for its lifetime, so you can sort and breed the ones you want.

Sorting and Isolating Colors

1. Let sheep spawn, then check each one's fleece color. Move the colors you want into a separate pen.

2. Shear the sheep you keep for their wool. Wool regrows when the sheep eats grass, so give the pen a grass floor and let them graze.

3. Dye is still an option: if the random pool does not include the color you need, you can dye white wool the normal way. Random spawn colors do not remove vanilla dyeing.

Breeding for a Color

Breed two sheep of the color you want with wheat so the lambs are more likely to match. Because the mod assigns colors at spawn, watch each lamb and cull or relocate any that come out the wrong color. Over a few generations this concentrates your preferred color in one pen. Keep the config list in mind — if a color is not in the allowed list, no amount of breeding will produce it from spawns.
