How to Blacklist Flowers So They Stop Spawning

What the Blacklist Does

The mod generates a blacklist.txt file in its config folder. Any flower listed there with an exclamation mark in front of its name is excluded from the random bone meal pool. This is how you stop unwanted flowers from clogging your farms.

Editing the Blacklist

1. Locate the mod's config directory. It's typically inside your Minecraft instance's config folder, in a subfolder named after the mod.

2. Open blacklist.txt with any text editor. If it doesn't exist yet, launch the game once with the mod installed so it generates.

3. Find the flower's registry name. This is the internal ID, not the display name. For vanilla flowers these look like minecraft:poppy, minecraft:dandelion, minecraft:cornflower, etc. For modded flowers, use that mod's namespace.

4. Add an exclamation mark directly before the name, one entry per line, for example !minecraft:poppy.

5. Save the file and reload. Restart the game or reload data so the change takes effect.

Verifying It Worked

  • Apply bone meal repeatedly in a test area. The blacklisted flower should never appear.
  • If it still spawns, double-check spelling and the leading !. A missing exclamation mark means the line is ignored.
  • Remove the ! to allow the flower again.
