What Is Inside a Gym Structure

Gym buildings are designed to be survival-friendly, meaning they contain usable rooms, corridors, and battle arenas rather than just decorative shells. Inside you will typically find the gym leader's chamber, open battle space, and various decorative blocks themed to the gym's type. These structures can serve as excellent temporary shelters or even permanent bases because they are pre-built, lit, and enclosed.

Making a Gym Your Base

To convert a gym into a base, first clear out any hostile mobs that may have spawned inside. Place your own storage, crafting stations, and beds in the side rooms. Since gyms generate in fixed locations, you can reliably return to them. Be careful not to break blocks that are part of the structure if you want to preserve its appearance, and avoid destroying the leader's battle area if you still plan to challenge them. If you defeat the leader first, the structure remains and is fully yours to use. Keep in mind that beta versions may have incomplete interiors or missing lighting, so bring torches to prevent mob spawns in dark corners.
