Building Logic Gates and Simple Circuits

Available Logic Gates

Project Red includes fundamental logic gates: AND, OR, NOT, XOR, NAND, and NOR. Each gate processes input signals and produces an output based on its logic function. Place gates like any block, then connect redstone wire to their input and output faces.

Basic Gate Setup

1. Place a logic gate in your circuit

2. Connect input wire to the appropriate input faces

3. Connect output wire to carry the result

4. Test with a redstone source (lever, button, or powered wire)

Gates automatically detect connected wire and activate when conditions are met. Outputs emit full signal strength when active.

Creating Simple Circuits

AND gate example: Combine two signals so output only activates when both inputs are powered. Useful for security doors requiring multiple switches.

OR gate example: Activate output if either input is powered. Ideal for multiple control points for a single device.

NOT gate example: Invert a signal. Useful for "off" switches or negating conditions.

Stacking Gates

Connect gate outputs to other gate inputs to build complex logic. Project Red's compact wiring makes multi-stage circuits practical even in small spaces. Experiment with combinations to create conditional automation systems.
