How to Use Bus Components and Bundled Cables in Project Red

What Bus Components Do

Bus components let you carry multiple signals along a single line instead of running many separate wires. The Bus Converter takes individual redstone signals and combines them onto a bundled cable, while a second Converter splits them back out at the other end. This is the backbone of compact, multi-channel circuitry. Place a Converter at each end of your run and connect your gates or inputs to the individual colored channels.

Input and Output Panels

Bus Input Panels and Bus Output Panels give you a tidy way to interface with a bundled line. An Input Panel lets you inject signals from buttons, levers, or gates onto specific channels. An Output Panel reads those channels and drives lamps, machines, or further logic. Use the Bus Transceiver to send a bundled signal wirelessly to another Transceiver, which is handy for crossing gaps or connecting distant builds without running cable.

Randomizers and Routing

Bus Randomizer and Dec Randomizer pick a random channel from the bundle, useful for lottery-style machines or randomized dispenser outputs. The Multiplexer selects one of several inputs based on a control signal, letting you route different signals down one line. When building, label your channels mentally by color and keep a diagram — with many channels it is easy to lose track. Test each channel with a lamp on the output panel before trusting the whole bus.
