How to Harvest Crops and Plants Efficiently with Sickles
What Sickles Do
Sickles in Project Red Exploration are area-harvest tools for plants, crops, and foliage. Instead of breaking one block at a time, a sickle lets you clear a patch of vegetation quickly. There are multiple tiers — iron, gold, and diamond — with higher tiers generally being faster or more durable. Use a sickle when you want to gather large amounts of wheat, leaves, grass, or similar plant blocks without clicking each one individually.
Choosing the Right Tier
Start with an
iron sickle if you are early in the game and just need to clear a farm or gather seeds. Gold sickles are faster but less durable, making them good for short bursts of harvesting. Diamond sickles last much longer and are the best choice for repeated, large-scale farming. Match the tool to the job: do not waste a
diamond sickle on a tiny garden patch, and do not bring an iron sickle to a massive harvest where it will wear out.
Practical Harvesting Steps
Stand at the edge of the crop or plant area you want to harvest. Swing the sickle to break multiple plant blocks in the affected area. Collect the drops, then move to the next section. For farms, plant in compact rows so a single swing covers more crops. For leaf clearing, work from the outside of a tree inward. Always carry a spare sickle or repair materials on long harvesting trips, since sickles lose durability with use.
