Finding Sticks Without Breaking Trees

The Stick Problem

Normally you'd get sticks from wood, but you can't mine wood without bone tools. Primitive Start Mod solves this by letting you harvest sticks directly from leaf blocks.

How to Collect Sticks

1. Locate any tree in your world.

2. Break leaf blocks by left-clicking them repeatedly with your bare hand.

3. Collect the sticks that drop—leaves have a chance to drop sticks when destroyed.

4. Gather multiple stacks before crafting, as you'll need sticks for every bone tool recipe.

Efficiency Tips

  • Focus on large trees with dense foliage—they yield more sticks per tree.
  • Break leaves systematically from bottom to top to avoid falling damage.
  • Collect extra sticks beyond your immediate needs; you'll use them for future crafting and fuel.

Alternative Source

If leaf farming is slow, check for wooden structures like village huts or forest cabins. These contain pre-crafted sticks or wooden items you can break down, providing a faster alternative to harvesting leaves.
