Processing Raw Ore into Usable Materials
From Raw Chunks to Ingots
After mining, you have raw ore chunks that need processing. Place raw chunks in a furnace and smelt them to create ingots. This is the standard path for most metallic ores added by the mod. Some ores may have alternative processing recipes if you're using other mods in your pack.
Handling Dusts and Nuggets
Dusts and nuggets are byproducts or direct drops from certain ores. Nuggets can often be combined into ingots (typically nine nuggets per ingot, following Minecraft conventions). Dusts serve as crafting ingredients for specialized recipes or can be smelted in some cases. Check your crafting menu to see what each dust type enables.
Polished Gems and Decorative Drops
Fantasy gems like rubies and sapphires may drop as polished or raw gem forms. These don't need smelting—they're ready to use for decoration, enchanting tables, or mod-specific recipes. Store them separately from metal ingots to keep your inventory organized and your building materials easily accessible.
