How to Tame Your First Dinosaur
Finding a Dinosaur
Explore your world to locate dinosaurs in various biomes. They're most commonly found in grassy fields and savannas during different times of day. Approach cautiously—some species are more aggressive than others.
Taming Process
Once you've found a dinosaur, you'll need to feed it. Each dinosaur species has preferred food items. Approach slowly and feed the creature repeatedly until hearts appear above its head, indicating successful taming.
After Taming
Your newly tamed dinosaur will follow you and respond to your commands. You can now saddle it to ride, or keep it as a companion. Tamed dinosaurs won't attack you, but they may still defend themselves against other threats. Consider building an enclosure to keep your dinosaur safe and prevent it from wandering too far away.
Tips
- Different dinosaur species require different foods—experiment to find what works
- Taming takes patience; have plenty of food on hand
- Higher-level dinosaurs may be harder to tame than smaller species
