How to Revive Dinosaurs from Fossils

Finding and Preparing Fossils

Fossils are the foundation of breeding dinosaurs in Prehistoric Legacy. Search through stone and deepslate blocks in caves and underground areas—they generate naturally as part of the world. Once you've collected fossil blocks, you'll need to extract the fossil items from them using appropriate tools.

The Revival Process

To bring a dinosaur back to life, you'll need to use a special revival mechanism. Place your fossil in the designated structure or device (typically an incubator or similar block), along with the required materials. The mod provides specific items needed for each species—these vary by dinosaur type.

Once activated, the revival process takes time. You cannot rush it, so set up your revival area in a safe location away from hostile mobs. Different dinosaur species may require different conditions or materials, so check what your specific fossil needs before committing resources.

Alternative: Natural Spawning

If fossil hunting feels tedious, use the command /gamerule doDinoSpawn true to make dinosaurs spawn naturally throughout the Overworld. This bypasses revival entirely and populates your world with living dinosaurs automatically.
