Potion Replacer Mod: Changing Potion Effects with the Config File

How Potion Replacer Works

Potion Replacer Mod is a configuration-driven mod: it does not add new items or brewing recipes. Instead, it lets you redefine what existing potions do. You open the mod's config file and set new rules that map a potion to a different effect, so when that potion is drunk or applied, the game uses your chosen effect instead of the original one.

Because the rules live in the config, you can change them at any time without editing the mod itself. This is useful in modpacks where several mods add potions and you want to rebalance them — for example, making a strong potion weaker or swapping its effect for something that fits your pack's theme.

Keep a backup of the config before editing, and change one rule at a time so you can tell which entry caused a problem. If a potion behaves unexpectedly, check that its rule is written correctly and that no other rule overrides it.
