Using a Portable Hole to Create a Quick Escape Route

Activate the Portable Hole

Equip the Portable Hole and use it on a wall or ceiling of solid blocks. The tool will temporarily vanish a 3×3 tunnel of blocks, creating an opening you can pass through.

Move Quickly

The vanished blocks only stay gone for a few seconds before reappearing. Sprint through the tunnel immediately after activation—don't hesitate or you risk being trapped as blocks reform around you.

Plan Your Path

Before using the Portable Hole, know exactly where you're going. Use it to punch through walls blocking your escape from danger, lava, or hostile mobs. The temporary nature of the tunnel means it's best for quick exits rather than leisurely exploration.

Recharge and Reuse

After the blocks reappear, the Portable Hole can be used again. There's no cooldown between uses, so you can create multiple tunnels in succession if needed for escape.
