Configuring Portable Hole Behavior for Your World

Access the Right Config File

Portable Hole settings are split across three config files. Client configs affect your local game experience, common configs apply globally, and server configs are world-specific. Find them in /.minecraft/config/ for client and common settings, or in your world's serverconfig/ folder for server settings.

Quick In-Game Editing

Use the command /config showfile <modid> and select CLIENT, COMMON, or SERVER to open the relevant config file in your text editor. After saving, the config reloads automatically within seconds—no restart needed.

Apply Defaults to New Worlds

To use custom server settings for all future worlds, copy your modified server config to /.minecraft/defaultconfigs/. This ensures new worlds inherit your preferred settings automatically.

Alternative Methods

Some mod loaders support in-game config editing through the Mods menu, or you can install the Config Menus mod for a graphical interface.
