Monitoring Your Own Ping While Playing

Find Yourself in the List

Open the player list and locate your own name. The number beside it is your current ping to the server. This is the figure that matters most for your own responsiveness, since it reflects the round trip between your client and the server.

Use It to Judge Your Connection

Glance at your number before starting activities where timing matters, such as combat or precise building. A low, steady value means your inputs should register promptly. A high or rising value warns you that actions may feel delayed, so you can adjust your expectations or pause risky activities.

React to Spikes

If your number suddenly climbs, stop and check whether something on your network is competing for bandwidth, such as downloads or streaming on another device. Watch whether the value settles back down once that activity stops. If it stays high even when nothing else is using your connection, the issue may be with your route to the server, and reconnecting or switching networks is worth trying. Keeping the list open briefly after a change lets you confirm whether your fix actually helped.
