Prepare Your Village for a Pillager Raid

Fortify Your Defenses

Raids in Pillagers Plus are significantly more dangerous than vanilla raids due to the variety of specialized enemy types. Start by building walls around your village—at least 3 blocks high to stop most melee attackers, but consider 5+ blocks if you want to be safe from Hog Riders and their momentum.

Place your bed or gather point away from the perimeter. Position Iron Golems strategically around key buildings, especially near your crops and valuable structures. The mod's heavy attackers like Bad Villagers deal substantial damage, so multiple golems are worth the investment.

Stock Your Arsenal

Gather plenty of arrows and a bow with Power enchantments—you'll need sustained ranged damage against Mages and Summoners who attack from distance. Keep a sword with Knockback nearby for melee encounters. Since Demolishers carry live TNT, have water buckets ready to extinguish explosions or push TNT away from your buildings.

Stock healing potions and food. Biome-variant pillagers may have different attack patterns, so observe their behavior during the first waves and adjust your positioning accordingly.

During the Raid

Focus on eliminating Summoners first—they spawn additional enemies and compound the threat. Target Mages and Witches before they cast spells. Use terrain to your advantage by fighting on elevated platforms where Hog Riders cannot charge effectively.
