How Permanent Sponges Work

Unlike vanilla sponges, permanent sponges actively prevent water and lava from flowing back into cleared areas. Once placed, they create a protected zone that stays dry as long as the sponge remains in the world.

This makes them ideal for:

• Building underground bases without water seeping through
• Clearing ocean monuments and underwater structures
• Creating safe zones in lava lakes for Nether construction

The mod includes a magmatic sponge variant specifically designed for lava and hot fluids. For smaller cleanup jobs or tight spaces, use sponge sticks to quickly clear waterlogged blocks without placing a full sponge. Craft these items using the recipes provided in your crafting menu.
