Using Per-Player Traders on a Multiplayer Server

What Changes for Your Server

On a vanilla server, one wandering trader spawns for the whole world at a time, so players spread far apart often never see one. With this mod, every player gets their own trader spawn independently. That's a big quality-of-life change for survival servers where people branch out to different bases.

Setup and Play Tips

1. Install server-side. Spawning is handled by the server, so the mod must be present there. Clients generally don't need it for the spawning logic to work, but check the mod's requirements for your setup.

2. Expect more traders overall. Since each player can trigger a spawn, your server will see more traders total. This is normal and the mod is designed to have minimal performance impact.

3. No trade changes. Trades, llamas, and despawn behavior are untouched — only *who* the trader spawns for changes.

4. Per-player persistence. Spawn data is saved in each player's NBT under per_player_wandering_traders, so a player's trader state survives restarts and reconnects.

5. Troubleshooting per player. If one player never gets a trader, inspect their NBT tag to confirm the mod is tracking them, and check they're standing in a valid spawn area.

Good to Know

Because traders are now personal, two players at the same base can each get their own trader at the same time. This makes trading far more reliable for groups that play together but explore separately.
