Fixing Wandering Traders That Won't Spawn For You

First, Rule Out the Obvious

Before blaming the mod, check the basics. Wandering traders need a valid, safe spawn location near the player and won't appear if you're in an invalid dimension or biome setup that blocks them. Also confirm the mod is loaded on the server — this is a server-side spawning change, so a client-only install won't do anything in multiplayer.

Diagnostic Steps

1. Check you're the tracked player. The mod stores spawn data per player under per_player_wandering_traders in your NBT. If that tag is missing or empty, the mod isn't tracking you — usually a sign it isn't loaded correctly.

2.** The spawn timer is per player and not instant. If you just joined, give it the normal amount of in-game time.

3. Change your location. Move to open, well-lit ground near your base. Traders can't spawn inside cramped or unsafe spots.

4. Test in singleplayer. If it works there but not on the server, the issue is server-side configuration or a conflicting mod.

5. Check for conflicts. Other mods that overhaul mob spawning or trader behavior can interfere. Temporarily disabling them is the fastest way to isolate the cause.

When It's Working Correctly

You'll see a trader appear near *you* specifically, even if another player already has one nearby. Each player's trader is independent, so two players standing together can each get their own.
