How to Find and Collect Living Cuttlefish and Dugongs

Locating Modern Marine Life

Cuttlefish and dugongs spawn naturally in ocean biomes alongside the prehistoric creatures. Search shallow to moderate ocean depths to encounter these living animals. They behave like standard Minecraft mobs and won't attack you.

Capturing and Transporting

You can catch cuttlefish and dugongs using a bucket or by leading them with food. Dugongs are gentle creatures that won't resist capture. Keep them in water-filled tanks or containers if you want to transport them to a specific location.

Building an Aquarium

Create a dedicated ocean pen or aquarium in your base by building walls and filling the space with water. Place your captured cuttlefish and dugongs inside to establish a living collection. They'll remain safe and contained while you continue your fossil excavation and creature revival work.
