Patting Mobs Without Accidentally Interacting With Them

Why This Matters

Many mobs have a vanilla right-click action. Right-clicking a villager opens trades, right-clicking a cow with wheat starts breeding, right-clicking a horse mounts it, and right-clicking a tamed wolf makes it sit. If you want to pat these mobs without triggering their normal behavior, you need to control the interaction carefully.

How to Pat Safely

1. Crouch first, then click. The mod checks for the crouch state at the moment of the right-click. If you are already crouched when you press the button, the pat takes priority over the vanilla interaction.

2. Keep your hands empty if you are worried. For mobs like cows and sheep, holding the breeding item and right-clicking can still trigger breeding if the pat does not register. An empty hand removes that risk.

3. Aim at the head or body, not at a block. If your crosshair drifts onto a fence, gate, or chest behind the mob, you may open that block instead.

If the Wrong Thing Happens

If you accidentally open a trade window or mount a horse, simply dismount or close the GUI and try again while crouched. The pat animation above the mob's head is your signal that the pat, not the vanilla action, was the one that fired.
