How to Rename Backpacks and Organise Multiple Backpacks

Rename With an Anvil

The mod lets you rename backpacks freely so identical-looking tiers do not get mixed up. Take the backpack and the appropriate anvil material to an anvil, place the backpack in the left slot, type the new name in the text field, and take the renamed result. The name persists through upgrades, so a backpack called "Mining" stays "Mining" when you upgrade it from iron to copper and beyond.

Build a Naming Scheme

A consistent scheme saves time once you own several backpacks:

  • Name by purpose: "Mining", "Farming", "Nether", "Loot".
  • Or name by tier plus purpose: "Diamond - Tools".
  • Keep a dedicated "Empty" backpack for sorting sessions.

Organise Your Loadout

Use nesting to group related backpacks. Put your specialised backpacks inside one large outer backpack, then rename the outer one something like "Kit". When you need a specific set, open the outer backpack and open the nested one in place without unpacking everything.

Maintenance Tips

  • Re-check names after each upgrade in case you want to update the tier label.
  • Keep one backpack reserved for valuables and never nest it inside a backpack you might drop.
  • If you play with others, clear names help you identify which backpack is yours in a shared chest.
