How to Nest Backpacks and Open a Stored Backpack Without Removing It
Why Nesting Matters
One of the mod's standout features is that you can place one backpack inside another. This lets you carry a specialised backpack (for example, a mining kit) inside your main backpack instead of wasting hotbar or inventory slots. The nested backpack still occupies a slot inside the outer one, but it is out of the way until you need it.
Nesting Step by Step
1. Open your outer backpack's inventory.
2. Drag the second backpack from your player inventory into a free slot inside the outer backpack.
3. Close the interface. The nested backpack now travels with the outer one.
Opening a Nested Backpack In Place
You do not have to pull the inner backpack out to use it. While the outer backpack's inventory is open, interact with the nested backpack slot the same way you would open any backpack. Its inventory opens directly, letting you add or remove items. This is ideal for keeping a tool backpack, a food backpack, or a loot-sorting backpack permanently stowed.
Practical Cautions
- Avoid creating loops where a backpack ultimately contains itself; keep the nesting one level deep to stay safe.
- Rename nested backpacks so you can identify them at a glance inside the outer inventory.
- Remember that everything inside a nested backpack still counts toward what you are carrying if you die.
