Understanding Infection Stages

Zombie sickness progresses through three stages, each reducing your movement speed and combat effectiveness. The longer you survive in your world, the harder infection becomes to avoid—even brief zombie contact can infect you in later stages.

Crafting Preventative Gear

Craft a gas mask early and wear it during any bunker exploration or surface ventures where zombies appear. The mask significantly reduces your infection risk when you encounter the undead.

Treating Active Infection

If you become infected, craft medical items like vaccines and tinctures at your base. These will reduce your infection stage and restore your combat and movement capabilities.

Stock your base with medical supplies before long exploration trips. Gather the necessary crafting ingredients during your bunker runs so you can quickly treat infection when you return home. Don't ignore early-stage symptoms—treat infection promptly before it progresses to later, more debilitating stages.
