How to Aim Orbital Strikes Using Directional Firing

Directional firing is the core aiming mechanic: the cannon launches its strike exactly where you are looking, not at a fixed point. Understanding this makes every mode more accurate.

How the aim works

Your view direction sets the trajectory. When you cast the rod, the bobber marks the landing point along that line of sight. Look further away and the strike lands further out; look down at your feet and it lands close. There is no separate coordinate entry — your crosshair is the targeting system.

Getting consistent hits

1. Pick your charge mode first.

2. Stand still and line up your crosshair on the target.

3. Cast the rod to lock the aim.

4. Trigger the charge.

If a strike keeps landing short or long, adjust your pitch rather than your position. Small changes in where you look move the impact point noticeably.

Common mistakes

  • Casting while moving, which shifts your view mid-cast.
  • Aiming at the sky, which sends the strike far past your target.
  • Forgetting which mode is active, so a precision aim produces a nuke-sized result.

Practice in a flat area to build a feel for how your look angle maps to distance before using it in a real fight or build.
