Upgrade Nautilus Armor to Netherite

Preparing for the Upgrade

Before you can upgrade nautilus armor, you need two things: a smithing table and netherite upgrade smithing templates. Craft or find a smithing table, then gather netherite upgrade templates from Nether loot chests or craft them if your mod version allows it.

Using the Smithing Table

Open the smithing table interface. Place your nautilus armor piece in the first slot, a netherite upgrade template in the second slot, and a netherite ingot in the third slot. The upgraded piece will appear in the output slot.

Repeat this process for each piece of nautilus armor you want to upgrade—helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots.

Why Upgrade?

Netherite versions of nautilus armor have higher durability, increased toughness, and better knockback resistance than the base obsidian tier. This makes them ideal for dangerous situations like fighting the Wither or exploring deep Nether fortresses. You'll need multiple netherite ingots, so plan your ancient debris mining accordingly.
