Label Items and Blocks with Secret Names

Renaming Items in the Secret Font

Apply the Nyctography font to item names and block text like signs and chests. This hides what's inside or marks items with coded labels.

Renaming Items You're Holding

1. Hold the item you want to rename

2. Use the command: /bookshelf font item nyctography:nyctography

3. The item's name in your inventory now displays in the secret font

4. The lore and tooltip remain unchanged unless you modify them separately

Labeling Blocks and Signs

1. Place a sign, chest, or other labeled block

2. Use the command: /bookshelf font block nyctography:nyctography X Y Z

3. Replace X, Y, Z with the block's coordinates

4. The block's text converts to the secret font

Practical Applications

Use secret names to organize storage without revealing contents at a glance. Mark dangerous areas or hidden passages with encoded warnings. Create treasure hunt clues by labeling waypoints with the secret alphabet. This method works on any block that displays text, making it versatile for base security and puzzle design.
