How to Migrate a Legacy FabricSkyBoxes Pack to Nuit

What Migration Means Here

Nuit is the modern multiloader successor to FabricSkyBoxes, and Nuit Interop Mod is built to ease the transition. Legacy FabricSkyBoxes packs are planned to be supported so you can keep using them while pack authors gradually move to the native Nuit format. The mod's job is to bridge the gap rather than force an immediate rewrite.

Practical Migration Steps

1. Keep your existing FabricSkyBoxes-format pack enabled.

2. Install Nuit and Nuit Interop Mod together so the interop layer can handle the legacy format.

3. Load a world and confirm the skies render. If a native Nuit sky exists for the same situation, the smart fallback may prefer it.

4. If you want the legacy pack's version instead, enable the option to disable native skyboxes in favor of converted ones.

5. Watch for an updated version of the pack in the native Nuit format, and switch to it when available.

Things to Watch For

Because legacy FabricSkyBoxes support is a gradual migration path, some packs may not convert perfectly. If a sky is missing or wrong, check whether the pack ships both formats, and try toggling the native-sky preference. Report persistent issues to the pack author so they can publish a Nuit-native release.
