How to Open the Notes GUI and Create Your First Note

Opening the Notepad

Press the N key while in-game to open the Notes GUI. This works on both singleplayer worlds and multiplayer servers, and it does not pause the game, so be careful about opening it while mobs are nearby. If the GUI does not appear, check your keybind settings and make sure the N key has not been reassigned to another mod.

Creating a Note

Once the GUI is open, you will see a list of existing notes on one side and a preview/edit area on the other. Click the button to create a new note, then type your text into the edit field. Give the note a recognizable title so you can find it later in the list. When you are done, save the note to keep it.

Where Notes Are Stored

Notes are saved based on context. A note created while playing a specific world or connected to a specific server is tied to that world or server, so it will only appear there. You can also choose to save a note globally, which makes it visible across every world and server you join. Use global notes for things like keybinds, mod commands, or general reminders, and per-world notes for coordinates, base layouts, or server-specific rules.
