How to Reduce Lag Spikes During World Generation with Noisium Forked

Understanding What the Mod Changes

Noisium Forked targets the noise functions Minecraft uses to build terrain, caves, and biomes. These calculations run constantly while chunks generate, and in heavily modded packs they can cause noticeable stutter when you explore new areas. The mod replaces the vanilla noise sampling path with a faster implementation, so the same terrain shape is produced but with less CPU work per chunk.

Practical Steps to Get the Most Benefit

1. Keep the mod installed alongside your other performance mods. It is designed to be lightweight and does not conflict with general optimization mods, so you do not need to remove anything to use it.

2. Pre-generate chunks in your world if you have a chunk pre-generator available. Because the mod speeds up each noise sample, pre-generation finishes faster and your normal play sessions see fewer spikes when crossing into fresh terrain.

3. Avoid stacking multiple mods that rewrite the same noise functions. If another mod also overrides worldgen noise, pick one. Two overrides can cancel each other or cause unexpected terrain.

4. Watch your chunk render distance. The mod reduces the cost per chunk, but generating many chunks at once still adds up. Lowering render distance slightly lets the optimized noise code keep up more comfortably.

5. Test in a new world first. Load a fresh world, fly around for a few minutes, and compare the smoothness to before. If terrain looks identical but feels smoother, the mod is working as intended.
