Managing a Large Multiplayer Server List Efficiently
Organizing Around the Refresh Behavior
If you maintain a long server list, the order of your entries matters more once refresh stops resetting your view. Since the list no longer jumps to the top, you can arrange servers so the ones you check most often sit near each other, then refresh and review them as a group without moving.
A Workflow That Works
1. Decide which servers you check regularly — friends' worlds, community servers, test servers.
2. Keep them clustered in the list so a single scroll position covers all of them.
3. Scroll to that cluster and press refresh.
4. Read the updated statuses in place.
5. Join whichever server is up, or keep refreshing if none are ready yet.
Why This Beats the Vanilla Behavior
In vanilla, every refresh is a small interruption: you lose your place, you scroll, you find the entry again. Over a session where you check the list many times, that adds up. With this mod, the list behaves like a stable panel you can re-poll at will.
Things to Keep in Mind
- The mod only changes scroll behavior on refresh. It does not add sorting, grouping, or favorites — you still arrange entries yourself.
- Server order is whatever you have set in the list, so plan it deliberately.
- Refreshing still re-pings every server, so a very long list may take a moment to fully update.
