How to Stop Fog From Coming Back After Installing No Fog Mod
If you installed No Fog Mod but still see fog in the Nether or Overworld, something else is overriding it. Fog in Minecraft comes from several sources, and the mod only removes the environmental kind.
Check for conflicting mods
Other visual or performance mods can re-add fog, especially ones that change rendering, weather, or dimension effects. Temporarily disable suspicious mods and reload a world to see if the fog returns. Shader packs in particular often render their own atmospheric fog, so try disabling shaders to confirm the mod is working underneath.
Check your settings and dimension
- Make sure you are in the right dimension. The mod targets Nether and Overworld fog; other dimensions may behave differently.
- Verify the mod is enabled in your mod loader's list and matches your game version.
- Some fog effects, like the blindness or darkness status effect, are gameplay mechanics rather than environmental fog and will not be removed.
- Water and lava fog are separate from distance fog and may still appear depending on how the mod is configured.
Reload properly
After changing mods, fully restart the game rather than just returning to the title screen. If fog persists, test in a fresh world to rule out world-specific settings, then re-enable mods one at a time to find the culprit.
