How to See Farther in the Overworld Without Changing Other Visuals

No Fog Mod strips the environmental fog that normally softens distant terrain in the Overworld. The result is that biomes, mountains, and oceans stay visible much farther out, but you need to pair it with the right settings to benefit.

Tune your render distance first

Fog removal only helps if chunks are actually being drawn. Open video settings and increase render distance until you find a balance your machine can handle. On lower-end systems, a moderate render distance with fog removed still looks far clearer than the default foggy view.

What you can now do

  • Scout terrain from a high point. Stand on a hill or build a pillar and look for villages, ocean monuments, or distant biome edges that fog used to hide.
  • Navigate by landmarks. Mountains, deserts, and forests now stay visible across long stretches, so you can steer toward them instead of wandering.
  • Spot weather and sky changes sooner. Rain, storms, and sunsets read across a wider area, which helps with planning travel.
  • Combine with a map mod if you use one. Clear sightlines make it easier to verify what your map shows.

Because the mod only touches fog rendering, your textures, shaders, and gameplay stay exactly as they were. You are simply removing a visual layer, not altering the world.
