Preparing for the Hunt

Netherite Octoarachnopod spawns one giant spider at a time to hunt you. Each spider type has different abilities: the Netherite Spider is heavily armored, the Camo Stalker blends with terrain, the Poison Striker jumps and poisons, and the Hunter Spider only moves when you're not looking.

When you spot a spider, you have two options: fight or flee. The spider tracks you from far away and moves quickly, climbing over obstacles and avoiding hazards like lava and cliffs. If you get too close to darker spider variants, you'll be blinded.

After defeating a spider, you'll have 40 minutes of peace before another spawns. Use this time to prepare weapons and armor. If your world has the hostileOnlyAtNight setting enabled, spiders only hunt after dark, giving you daytime safety.
