Restraining Your Target

Approach a villager with a weapon equipped to open the crime menu. Select the restraint option and choose your binding type: Rope is fastest but easiest to escape; Cuffs offer better security; Locked Cuffs provide maximum restraint but require a key to remove. The villager becomes your captive and cannot flee.

Transporting and Holding the Captive

Lead your restrained target away from witnesses and guards to a secure location—an isolated building, underground chamber, or remote area works well. Keep them away from other villagers who might attempt a rescue or alert authorities. The longer you hold them, the more pressure builds on their family or the town treasury to pay.

Collecting Ransom

Interact with your captive to demand ransom. The town or their family will eventually offer payment to secure their release. Accept the ransom when the amount suits you, then release the villager. Your Karma will suffer significantly, and Heat will spike if guards discover your hideout.
