How to Get Trimmed Armor from Mob Drops
What Actually Drops Trimmed Gear
When a mob spawns wearing armor, Naturally Trimmed Mod rolls a chance to apply a random trim to that armor before the mob ever appears. This means the trim is baked in at spawn time, not when the mob dies. Kill the mob and the trimmed piece drops like any normal armor drop, with the trim intact.
Getting Reliable Drops
- Target mobs that spawn with armor in the first place: skeletons, zombies, piglins, and similar hostile mobs in higher-difficulty areas are your best bet.
- Increase your local difficulty (spend more time in an area, or play on a harder setting) so mobs spawn with armor more often.
- Use a Looting-enchanted weapon. It raises the chance the armor actually drops instead of being destroyed.
- Farm in a mob grinder if you want volume. Even a low per-mob trim chance adds up across hundreds of kills.
What to Expect
Trims on mob drops are random, so you cannot aim for a specific pattern or material. Treat it as a bonus on top of normal drops rather than a targeted farm. If you want a particular trim, chest loot and villager trades are usually more controllable.
