How to Locate and Harvest Wood from Each Biome

Finding Your Target Biome

Each wood type grows naturally in its corresponding biome. Explore the Overworld until you find Maple Forest (colorful autumn trees), Redwood Forest (massive tall trees), Frozen Pine (snow-covered evergreens), Arid Grasslands (twisted juniper trees), Wetlands (willow trees with hanging vines), or Flower Fields (though these lack harvestable wood). Use the landscape features—bluebells and fallen leaves mark Maple Forest; deep snow indicates Frozen Pine; murky water and cattails signal Wetlands.

Harvesting and Processing

Once you've located a biome, fell trees using any axe. Collect the logs and branch logs that drop. Branch logs are decorative pieces that connect naturally to tree trunks, so gather these too if you plan to build with them. Return to your base and place logs in a crafting grid or furnace to convert them into planks. Each wood type produces matching planks, stairs, slabs, and decorative blocks unique to that biome's aesthetic.

Efficient Gathering

Bring a diamond or better axe to speed up harvesting. Consider setting up a temporary base near a biome with abundant trees to stockpile materials before returning home.
