Make Custom Stone Ore Textures Match Your Resource Pack
How Layered Overlays Work
Native Vein Textures uses transparent overlay layers on top of your stone blocks. This means your resource pack's custom stone textures remain visible underneath—the mod only adds the ore appearance on top.
Ensuring Compatibility
1. Load your resource pack normally in your world settings. The mod detects it automatically.
2. Check that stone blocks display correctly before mining ore. If granite, diorite, andesite, or tuff look wrong, your resource pack may have unusual stone textures.
3. Test one ore vein by mining into a stone pocket. The ore should show your stone's color/texture as the background, with the mineral overlay on top.
4. If ores look disconnected from stone, verify your resource pack doesn't use non-standard texture sizes or formats. The mod works best with packs using vanilla-compatible dimensions.
If a specific stone type from your resource pack doesn't blend well, the mod's overlay system may need adjustment, but standard packs work without configuration.
