How to Use Villager Outposts from Voyager Structures as Bases
Several Voyager Structures generate with villagers already living inside, which makes them excellent forward bases or trading hubs. Instead of building from scratch, you can claim one and improve it.
Securing the Site
First, clear any hostile mobs nearby, especially at night. Place torches around the perimeter and inside every room to stop spawns. If the structure has open windows or gaps in the walls, patch them with matching vanilla blocks so it still looks natural. Build a small fence or wall around the outside if the area is dangerous.
Setting Up a Base
- Place a bed inside a protected room and set your spawn.
- Add a chest area for loot you collect while exploring.
- Put a crafting table, furnace, and anvil in one corner.
- If villagers are present, keep them safe behind doors or fences so zombies cannot reach them.
Using It as a Trading Post
Villagers in these structures can be traded with like any other villager. Bring emeralds, paper, or whatever their trades require. If you want to expand, you can build extra rooms onto the existing structure using the same block palette. Because everything is made from vanilla blocks, your additions will match the original build without any special materials.
