Identify and Avoid Spitter Zombies
What Makes Spitters Dangerous
Spitter Zombies attack from range by launching projectiles (slime balls) at players. Unlike melee zombies, they can damage you from a distance, making them unpredictable threats in open areas.
Recognition and Avoidance
Visual identification: Spitters have a distinct appearance that sets them apart from standard zombies. Learn their model so you can spot them before they attack.
Listen for audio cues: The mod includes unique sounds for different zombie types. Spitters have characteristic noises when they prepare to attack.
Maintain cover: When you spot a Spitter, immediately move behind solid blocks—trees, walls, or terrain features. Their projectiles cannot pass through obstacles.
Engage at close range: If you must fight, close the distance quickly. Spitters are less dangerous in melee combat. Rush them while dodging side-to-side.
Use shields: If available, raise a shield to block incoming projectiles while advancing.
Prioritize them: In mixed zombie groups, eliminate Spitters first. Their ranged attacks make them higher priority than melee variants.
Night preparation: Before nightfall, identify open areas near your base where Spitters could attack from range. Consider adding cover or barriers.
Spitters reward awareness—spot them early and you control the engagement.
