Fight a Zombie Brute Safely

Understanding the Brute

Zombie Brutes are heavily armored, slow-moving tanks with exceptional durability and melee damage. Direct combat is dangerous; they require strategy rather than raw DPS.

Combat Tactics

Maintain distance: Never engage in close quarters. Brutes deal massive damage per hit, so kiting (running while attacking) is essential. Use ranged weapons—bows, crossbows, or magic if available.

Use terrain: Lead the Brute into narrow spaces, over cliffs, or through water. Their size and weight make them slow to navigate obstacles. Water particularly slows their movement.

Exploit knockback: Weapons or tools with knockback enchantments push Brutes back, creating space and preventing them from closing distance. This is one of your most effective tools.

Wear protection: Equip your best armor. Even with distance, you'll take hits. Prioritize armor with protection enchantments.

Avoid head-on charges: Never let a Brute build momentum toward you. Keep moving perpendicular to their approach.

Summon help: If available, use other mobs or mechanics to distract the Brute while you attack from range.

Patience wins against Brutes—outlast them rather than overpower them.
