Building a Moss Garden Under a Glass Floor
Concept
A glass floor with moss growing underneath is a classic decorative build, but vanilla moss refuses to spread when covered. Moss Fix makes this build practical: you can lay moss beneath glass and still expand it with bonemeal.
Build Steps
1. Dig or build a shallow trench where you want the moss layer.
2. Place a starter moss block at one end.
3. Cover the trench with glass blocks or glass panes at the height directly above the moss.
4. Apply bonemeal to the starter moss repeatedly. The mod allows growth despite the glass ceiling.
5. Let the moss spread along the trench, then add more starter blocks if you want faster coverage.
Design Notes
- Leave at least one open side so moss has blocks to spread onto.
- Use the same technique under chests in storage rooms for a natural floor look.
- Because transparent blocks no longer block growth, you can mix glass, chests, and other see-through or non-opaque blocks freely above the moss.
This turns moss from an outdoor-only decoration into something you can use in enclosed, covered interiors.
