Use Bone Tools Against Skeletons Effectively

Bone Tool Special Abilities

Bone Axes and Bone Swords have two unique mechanics when fighting Skeletons and Wither Skeletons: extra damage and head drops.

Activating Bone Tool Effects

Both effects are chance-based and configured in the [chances] section:

• Extra Damage: 20% chance per hit (default setting of 200) to deal bonus damage
• Head Drop: 5% chance per kill (default setting of 50) for the skeleton to drop its head

These chances can be adjusted in your config. Higher values increase frequency — for example, changing headDrop from 50 to 200 would give a 20% chance instead of 5%.

Bone tools have 206 durability and 4.9 mining speed, making them decent for general use. However, they truly shine when farming skeleton heads or dealing with skeleton-heavy areas. Combine them with Hammers or Excavators for even better results. Note that these effects only trigger against Skeletons and Wither Skeletons — other mobs won't activate the bonuses.
