Put a Banner on a Horse, Donkey, or Mule

Accessing the Banner Slot

First, tame the horse, donkey, or mule by repeatedly riding it until hearts appear. Once tamed, open the animal's inventory by right-clicking on it while sneaking.

Equipping the Banner

You'll see a dedicated banner slot in the animal's inventory screen (separate from saddle and armor slots). Place your banner into this slot. The banner will now display on the animal's body, making it easy to identify your mounts at a glance.

Removing the Banner

Open the animal's inventory again and take the banner out of the banner slot. The banner returns to your inventory unharmed. You can swap banners between different animals or redesign them anytime without losing the original.
