How to Summon and Defeat the Pillager Boss

Gathering the Totem Parts

The Pillager Boss requires a three-part totem to summon. Two parts drop from specific mobs:

• Archer/Bowman: Defeat archers to obtain one totem part
• Zombie Mage or Spider Mage: Defeat either mage variant to get another part
• Wooden Cutout: Craft or find the third part (wooden component)

Combine all three parts in your crafting grid to assemble the complete Pillager Totem.

Performing the Ritual

Once assembled, place the totem on the ground. You'll need to gather blood before activation:

1. Damage yourself or other mobs to accumulate 5 hearts worth of blood

2. Equip a Bloody Sacrifice Knife

3. Sneak and right-click on the middle part of the totem with the knife

4. Watch for smoke rising from the totem—this indicates successful summoning

The Pillager Boss will spawn nearby. Prepare with strong armor and weapons before attempting the ritual. Defeating the boss may reward you with the Wither Staff, which is required to summon the Withender.
