Taming Small Pets and Insects

Small pets like bunnies, mice, turtles, and birds are found throughout different biomes. Use the CreaturePedia to identify which food each pet prefers, then right-click them while holding that food to tame them.

Once tamed, small pets follow you and can be worn on your head or shoulders as cosmetic companions. Insects like butterflies, fireflies, and ants don't require taming but can be observed in their natural habitats.

Keeping Pets Happy

Tamed pets need regular feeding to stay healthy and loyal. Keep their preferred food in your inventory and feed them periodically. Neglected pets may wander away or become hostile.

You can breed some small pets by feeding two tamed pets their preferred food while keeping them together. Baby pets will spawn and grow into adults.

Storage and Transport

Small pets take up inventory space. If you're collecting many, consider building a dedicated pet area in your base with fencing and shelter. Alternatively, use Horse Amulets (if compatible with your pet type) to store them safely. This prevents accidental loss and keeps your inventory organized while maintaining a living collection.
