Equipping and Using Night Vision Goggles
Putting On Your Goggles
Night vision goggles are your primary tool for navigating dark environments. Locate the goggles in your inventory and equip them like a helmet. Once worn, they'll activate automatically in low-light conditions, giving you a clear green-tinted view of your surroundings.
Activating and Adjusting
When equipped, the goggles will engage based on ambient light levels—you don't need to manually toggle them in most cases. The first-person animation will show the goggles lowering into position. If you need to deactivate them temporarily, remove the goggles from your head slot.
Using Thermal Imaging
If your goggles have a
clip-on thermal imager (COTI) attachment, you can switch between standard night vision and thermal imaging modes. Thermal mode highlights heat signatures, making it easier to spot mobs and other warm entities through walls and obstacles. This is especially useful for tactical exploration or combat situations.
Tips
- Goggles work best in caves, at night, and in dark indoor spaces
- Thermal imaging consumes more resources; use it strategically
- Different goggle variants may have different clarity or field-of-view characteristics
