Maximize Storage on Mining Trips

Choose the Right Backpack Tier

Bring a backpack that matches your expected haul. Short mining trips near your base work fine with leather or coal bags. Deep mining expeditions where you'll collect stacks of ore benefit from iron or gold backpacks. Extended end-game mining runs demand emerald, diamond, netherite, or the special mineral backpack for maximum capacity.

Organize Your Inventory

Before heading out, place your backpack in a hotbar slot for quick access. Keep your main inventory slots free for tools and essentials. When your main inventory fills up, open your backpack and move ore stacks into it to free up space.

Stack Efficiently

The backpack stores items in a grid, so stackable materials like ore, stone, and dirt take up fewer slots when grouped together. Separate non-stackable items like tools to avoid wasting space.

Return Home with More Loot

Your backpack lets you carry significantly more than your inventory alone. You can mine longer before returning to base, making each trip more productive and reducing travel time between mining sessions.
