Set Up a Chain Lift to Launch Your Coaster

Placing the Chain Lift Section

Identify where you want your coaster to climb—typically at the start or before a major drop. Build a vertical or angled track segment and mark it as a chain lift using the appropriate tool or block.

Powering with Redstone

Run redstone dust or redstone wire to the chain lift block. The lift will only activate when powered. You can use a lever, button, or redstone timer to control when carts are pulled up the lift.

Controlling Speed and Direction

The chain lift will automatically pull carts upward along the track. Adjust the redstone signal strength or use repeaters to fine-tune the speed if the mod allows variable power levels. Test with an empty cart first to ensure smooth operation.

Creating a Complete Launch Sequence

For best results, position your chain lift at the ride's highest point, then let gravity do the work on the descent. Alternatively, use magnetic launches for horizontal acceleration sections. Combine multiple lift types to create complex ride profiles with varied pacing.
